About Community College Centre
The Community College is a concept apparently working well in Countries like USA for about last 50 years. To meet the contemporary needs of the society and the Nation, these colleges are established. India, a developing and a highly popular Nation where in 'providing employment to all' proves to be very difficult. Here comes into picture the role of Community Colleges. These Colleges offer courses that are a mix of knowledge and skill development. The skill component of the curriculum will draw from the credit framework prepared under the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the concerned sectors with the following salient featuresl Community Colleges will provide vertical mobility-certificates, diplomas and degrees with multiple exit points with job oriented opportunities. l Mobility between general and vocational education could be facilitated through transfer of credits. l Vocational nature of education will enhance the entrepreneurial and employment opportunities to the enrolled students. l No formal qualification is required, however class XII or X qualification would enable student to have required understanding. From the coming session, the following proposed courses will be started under Community College, BBAU.
